Summary : An area of enclosed parkland situated within the southeastern area of London Zoo which became part of the Zoo in 1935 and was originally intended to become part of the Children's Zoo (Monument HOB UID 1170537). Its current design was laid out in 1963 by Colin Wears and Franz Stengelhofen, the Zoo architect, and is comparable to a Wolf Wood at Whipsnade Zoo. It comprises two enclosures containing bunker-like concrete and brick lairs, one of which is flanked by a timber screen. |
