Summary : Postern Gate, cut through Bridgnorth Castle walls in 1540. No physical evidence found.

A 'postern gate' had been created by 1540 by making a breach in
the Castle Wall to the east of the main castle gate which was
then blocked up. The castle gate which became part of the late
'Hole in the Wall' public house was destroyed in 1821. (2-4)

There is no trace of the 'postern gate'. (5)
