ST ANNES CHAPEL AND TELFORD BRIDGE

A series of Medieval bridges stood on this site, the first 1447-60, destroyed during the Wars of the Roses, the second, 1460-83, the third 1483-1795 which had a gatehouse and St Annes chapel and a prison, the last built by Telford in 1798.
