Summary : At Brockbury, in the parish of Colwall, was a 'cell' of two monks, subject to the Priory of Malvern Major. At Barton was another small Benedictine foundation....founded before 1199 and recorded by Gervase of Canterbury. As Barton and Brockbury are only a short distance apart it seems possible the authorities used may refer to a single house. There is no trace of either foundation. |
