EASTNOR CASTLE

DESCRIPTION + /

Eastnor Castle is a country house constructed between 1811-20 by Sir Robert Smirke in Neo-Norman and Early English Style. It comprises a large symmetrical building with quatrefoil angle towers and a raised centre. Internal alterations, which were mostly decorative, were carried out by Pugin in 1849-50 and G E Fox during the 1860s. An ornamental garden, adjacent to the south wing of the castle, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs.
