MONUMENT NO. 1132199

DESCRIPTION + /

A Second World War military training site is visible as an earthwork and recorded during field investigations. The site was a tank training circuit visible as a triangular track. Each side measures about 150 metres long and is associated with the nearby target railway SS 94 NW 114. The track was carefully constructed up to 1m high and 6m wide and probably built of quarried stone ballast. This is one of three tank circuits built on North Hill for tank training (SS 94 NW 64).
