More information : Landscape park and formal gardens to Well Hall, an early 17th century country house. The park was landscaped during the early 18th century and involved the damming of Well Beck to form two lakes and the construction of garden terraces. It is thought that Charles Bridgeman may have been involved with this landscaping. It is documented that the formal gardens were planted in 1727 and that they were of a similar design to the present gardens. (1)
