Summary : Public park covering an area of nine hectares. It was opened to the public in 1892, extended in 1893 and completed in 1896. The grounds of Hollytrees mansion were incorporated into the park in 1920. Gardens in the park were laid out in 1929, the 1950s and 1979.
More information : Landscape park at Colchester Castle developed during the mid 18th century. History of the park prior to this is uncertain. It was opened to the public in 1892. Features include a bandstand also of 1892 and the War Memorial constructed in 1923. (1)
