Summary : Chalky soil marks may indicate the site of a levelled barrow (or barrows). A contour survey undertaken in 1959 by Grimes appears to support the possibility of either two confluent mounds or a single oval mound. The site is immediately adjacent to the Lake Group of barrows recorded as SU 14 SW 51, and has been listed as Wilsford Cum Lake 91 by RCHME. Indistinct cropmarks visible on aerial photographs suggest that there are two mounds, this record referring to the northernmost. The mound to the southeast is recorded as SU 14 SW 475. |
