Summary : A standing stone cross located within the churchyard of St Dubricius's Church, approximately 9 metres to the north east of the north porch. The cross is of 14th century date and is of stepped form. It includes a base comprised of a single step and a socket stone, part of the shaft and a tabernacle head. The step is square in plan and is constructed from pink sandstone blocks, similar to those used in the construction of the church. Scheduled and Listed Grade II.
More information : (SO 54302641) Cross (NR). (1) Cross, square base, lower part of considerably shortened stem, and original cross-head; mid to late 14th c, considerably worn (see photograph). (2) Md churchyard cross comprising a 1.0 m square base, 0.2 m high, into which is socketed a fragment of chamfered shaft, 1.0 m high, upon which rests a cross head, 0.5 m high, 0.4 m wide, 0.25 m thick, in each face of which is an ogee headed recess containing a worn figure. Remains in fair condition. Resurveyed at 1:2500. (3)
