An IA settlement. (2)

The village site is entirely enclosed by a modern stone wall built on the top of the bank of the original enclosing wall. There were probably 3 entrances, on the west, the south, and the east. (3)

Surveyed at 1:2500. The well-defined remains of a stone enclosed settlement. Correctly described. (4)

Condition unchanged. (5)

NY 437100 (Incorrect grid reference - This should be NY 437010).
Enclosed village site at Hugill consisting of a D-shaped enclosure of over 1 acre, with internal huts arranged on levelled terraces is similar to the Romano-British stone walled settlements in Northumberland. (6-7)
