Medieval deer park landscaped during the late 18th century. Features include a walled kitchen garden. The central area of the park is mainly open with scattered mature trees. The main area of woodland is around the eastern side of the park, and along the north, northeast and southeast boundaries. Late 18th century and 19th century landscaping also took place within the vicinity of the house, features here include a ha ha, terraces with formal bedding, lawn, paths, statues and urns. (4)
The gardens were remodelled during the late 18th century and early 19th century. Formal designs were laid out during the later 19th century, however, these were simplified during the 20th century. The park, a deer park, had been established by circa 1500 and was landscaped during the late 18th century. (5) |
