More information : SE 16 28. The Low Moor Chemical Company was established in the late
nineteenth century and was an important supplier of picric acid to
the explosives industry. Picric acid when used as a high explosive
shell filling is known as lyddite. It was listed as an important
supplier of picric acid during the Great War. (1-1a)
