PEMBRIDGE CASTLE

DESCRIPTION + /

Former border castle. Extant by 1219 ruined in 1644. The keep dates from the late 12th to early 13th century and there are also remains of a 13th century gatehouse, curtain walls and an undercroft, with a chapel and 17th century domestic buildings. These features have been incorporated into a 20th century reconstruction. Used as farmhouse. Scheduled.
