Summary : Probable Preceptory of Knights Hospitallers founded before 1180 dissolved after 1338, and nunnery cell of Sisters of St John removed to Buckland Priory (ST 34 NW 3) in 1180. Camera from 1338 and later used as a guest house. It was leased out after 1505.
More information : Hampton. There appears to have been a Hospitallers Preceptory here by 1180 when the Sisters of St John were moved to Buckland (ST 34 NW 3). In 1338 it is called a camera and seems to have been used later as a guest house and was leased out in 1505. (1)
