Summary : Early 17th century country house which was the original focus of The Temple Grounds. It was demolished between 1824 and 1827.
More information : The original focus of The Temple Grounds, Richmond (NZ 10 SE 277) was Yorke House, also known as The Green, a mansion which stood on the south-west side of The Green (NZ 1683 0062 - derived from Buck's `Prospect' of 1749). Built in the first years of the 17th century and demolished between 1824 and 1827. (1)
