Turret 72B which lies 19 yards from the easternmost hedge of field 1004 was partially excavated by Simpson in 1948. (2)
This turret was of the normal Turf-Wall type, with the later stone wall butted against them. In this case the wall was stepped back 3' 11" from the north face of the Turret. No visible remains. (3)
There is inadequate locational information from the above excavation (2) for the turret and no surface trace in the area NY 3144 5922. (4)
