More information : The possible remains of Medieval settlement were seen as earthworks and mapped from good quality air photographs. Possible tofts and/or crofts, cut by a disused railway, are centred at TF 3025 8502. Some of these have been ploughed and are visible as cropmarks. Two short lengths of hollow way, each up to 60m long, are centred at TF 3019 8509 and TF 3024 8509. Three blocks of ridge and furrow survive as earthworks, adjacent to the tofts/crofts, centred at TF 3045 8521 and TF 3037 8495. The remains form a discrete area of settlement to the south west of Medieval settlement at Hallington (see TF 38 NW 31). It is not clear if they form part of the same village.
