Summary : Cantilevered concrete pillbox forming part of the defences for Burnaston Airfield. The airfield was destroyed in the 1990s to make way for a Toyota factory. This distinctive mushroom shaped pillbox was one of two at the airfield. These pillboxes were manufactured by F.C.Construction Company Limited and were intended to provide all round fire for airfields. This pillbox was destroyed to make way for roadworks.
