Summary : Probable Medieval or Post Medieval fishponds seen as earthworks.
More information : Probable Medieval or Post Medieval fishponds were seen as earthworks and mapped from good quality air photographs. Eleven parallel fishponds of varying width are centred at TF 4812 7851. These are flanked on three sides by three more fishponds. The ponds are fed by the main drain and some of the narrower ponds may have been part of a drainage and control system for the larger ponds. The ponds are close to a Medieval Augustinian priory (see TF 47 NE 3) and could be related as is sometimes seen at other monastic sites in Lincolnshire.
