More information : NY 6237 1056 Possible enclosure of unknown date.
This enclosure was surveyed by the Royal Commission in June 1996 during the Industry and Enclosure in the Neolithic Project.
A short section of bank, 21.5m long by 1.8m wide and 0.4m high, surmounted by at least four orthostatic rocks. The bank describes a simple curve and almost connects two limestone outcrops, the southern one of which is encircled by a probable Neolithic enclosure (NY 61 SW 75). The orthostatic bank, which appears to be later than the Neolithic enclosure, may have defined the southern side of a small enclosure situated in the gully between the two limestone pavements, though no other sign of the enclosure now survives.
A hollow way (at NY 6238 1058) which heads up the gully towards it may be associated.
