Summary : Modern earthen mound on top of a reservoir, possibly the site of a Bronze Age round barrow.

Crugyn: A tumulus on the boundary between Montgomery and Salop, 1 3/4 miles northeast of Bishop's Castle. (3)

The only mound in this area is that depicted on the OS 6" Prov Edn. at SO 29959005, covering a hilltop water reservoir. It
measures 18.0m square at the base and 6.0m square at the top, and 6.0m in height, (above true ground level). It must be presumed that the reservoir occupies the site of the orginal 'Crugyn'. (4)
