The road from Brough (RR 710b) continued to Templeborough Roman fort (SK 49 SW 7) and then to Doncaster (SE 50 SE 7). Just to the east of Templeborough fort the road must have joined Ryknild Street (RR 18e -LINEAR 495) and from Rotherham the road is probably represented by Doncaster Gate which climbs out of the town and follows high ground through Eastwood to Dalton. The main road by Whinney Hill, Thrybergh, Hooton Roberts and Conisbrough to Warmsworth probably follows part of it and runs in notably straight lengths from Hooton Roberts onwards. Church Lane at Warmsworth may be the continuation from the south bend of High Road, followed by Florence Avenue and Little Moor Lane, running straight into Doncaster. (1)
