More information : The following feature was mapped from poor quality air
photographs:-
A possible section of Roman road, 565m in length, was seen as a
cropmark between TF 0841 4476 and TF 0840 4419. This continues the
line of Mareham Lane northwards from the point where the OS depicts
it diverting from a straight course. It is also possible that the
feature may be a plough headland; at TF 0840 4455, remains of rig
can be seen differently aligned against either side. Its use as a
headland however, need not rule out the possibility of its being a
