Hob Uid: 1043624
Location :
Lincolnshire
South Kesteven
Ropsley and Humby, Braceby and Sapperton, Heydour
Grid Ref : TF0049036250
Summary : Probable Roman road seen as cropmarks consisting of an agger and side ditches.
More information : The Roman road King Street was seen as a cropmark and mapped from
good quality air photographs. The road was visible from TF 0049 3625
to SK 9984 3787. It was defined in parts only by its side ditches,
in other parts only by its agger, and the rest by both agger and side
ditches. The road crosses the Roman road the Salters way (RR58b) at
TF 0030 3680. The salters way is now defined by a modern road so the
nature of the junction between the two roads was not visible.
