More information : A Prehistoric or Roman settlement, seen as cropmarks, mapped from good quality air photographs. The following features were identified:-
Centred at TF 0990 1183 is a large ditched rectangular enclosure 210m by 345m, with a central dividing ditch with several entrance gaps across it. A number of enclosures and trackways are grouped around the perimeter of this enclosure.
At the SW end of the enclosure, at TF 0975 1164 is an rectangular enclosure, 30m by 58m, with an entrance facing west. An adjoining double ditched trackway extends eastwards to a potential smaller enclosure, 17m by 20m, at TF 0987 1165 .
At the northern end of the large enclosure, is a double ditched trackway with three angular bends, centred at TF 0980 1195, with several enclosures flanking it. At TF 0962 1193 is a large enclosure, 90m by 100m, containing three enclosures. Two are possible hut circles at TF 0962 1198 and TF 0959 1195, 8m and 5m in diameter, respectively. Centred at TF 0975 1190 is a group of enclosures, notably a polygonal enclosure, 40m by 55m, with an entrance facing east.
Further east is another group of enclosures, in particular a `D' shaped enclosure 22m by 32m, at TF 0990 1201, with an entrance facing east.
