A fragment of boundary in the form of a bank and ditch is visible as earthworks on air photoghraphs. It is similar in construction to South Dyke (Aberford Dykes - LINEAR 75) which is tentatively dated to between the late prehistoric period and 300 AD (Burgess, 2001). It is centred at SE 4595 3688. The bank is 132m by 2.5m and lies along the north side of the wider (9.5m) ditch. It is also similar in form to (and almost aligned with) earthworks further south-east that are purported to be a Medieval hollow way (SE 43 NE 16). (3-4) |
