MONUMENT NO. 1031554

DESCRIPTION + /

An earthwork defined enclosure of possible medieval but probable post-medieval date is visible on aerial photographs on a steep bracken covered north-facing slope to the east of Lynmouth. The bounding earthen banks are approximately 2 metres wide and enclose an area of about 1000 metres square. Two internal lateral banks sub-divide the enclosure but are in poor condition, and have probably been somewhat levelled by post-medeival ploughing, as evidenced by narrow ridge and furrow.
