Summary : Supposed site of a Roman tower, no visible remains. Measured position only (part of Roman Frontier Defence).
More information : Tower 22b not found (1a). The precise measurement between milefortlets 22 and 23 is 1530m. If the intervening towers were spaced equally, then 22b should have been situated at NY 0486 3830, in a pasture field at the base of an E-facing slope (not visible from milefortlet 23). There is no trace on the ground and the farmer reports no finds. (1) Site entry reads: T22b, Club House. The tombstone of a child found here in the 1950s was published in Britannia 31 (2000), 435. (2)
