More information : Tower 20a. Mr Hetherington, owner/occupier, saw walling during building work in the 1960's (1a). Assuming that this tower was at the customery spacing from milefortlet 20, and that it occupied the same low ridge, then it would have been at NY 073 407, beneath the farmhouse or extensive outbuildings of Blue Dial. Mr Hetherington (see authority 1a) was able to recall that, when the foundations for the byre at NY 07394075 were being inserted, some stones suggestive of a former structure were found, but the nature of this structure was never ascertained.
