Summary : Roman road; visible as a low agger 4m to 5m wide and 0.4m high maximum. Despite the excavation results the unusual survival of this road suggests the possibility that it may well be Medieval in its visible form; acting as access to Bleatarn Quarry.
More information : Excavated in 1894; gravel laid on larger stones with the largest stones in its centre and on the kerb (1a), and located by geophysical survey (1b). Road visible as a low agger 4m to 5m wide and 0.4m high maximum. Despite the excavation results the unusual survival of this road suggests the possibility that it may well be Medieval in its visible form; acting as access to Bleatarn Quarry. (1)
