Summary : The Roman road is on the line of the north mound of the Vallum (see NY 8370/6-10).
More information : Horsley believed that the Military Way was carried upon the north mound of the Vallum at several places (1a). In 1920 excavations revealed this to be the case between Limestone Corner and the Coesike [3/4 mile east of Sewingshields] except as pointed out by Horsley for a short distance opposite each milecastle (1b). This reference is a mere footnote containing no details. On the line of the north mound of the Vallum (see NY 8370/6-10). (1)
