Summary : A Roman Road is visible as an earthwork and cropmark on air photographs. The road can be seen as a parchmark leading eastwards from the eastern gate of Haltonchesters fort. An ill-defined section may be visible as an earthwork within the eastern half of the fort.
More information : Visible on aerial photographs (1a) and on the ground at the time of investigation as a light parchmark amidst broad rig. (1)

A Roman Road is visible as an earthwork and cropmark on air photographs between NY 9993 6844 and 9975 6843. The road can be seen as a parchmark leading eastwards from the eastern gate of Haltonchesters fort. An ill-defined section may be visible as an earthwork within the eastern half of the fort.
