Summary : The site of a Roman fort. Geophysical survey and limited excavation have uncovered the entire plan of a late 1st century Roman fort in Harbutt's Field. It is apparently of late 1st century date and roughly square in plan, measuring approximately 110 metres by 125 metres with rounded corners and entrances in the middle of all four sides. There are no visible remains. |
