Tower 1B

Hob Uid: 1008200
Location :
Cumbria
Allerdale
Bowness
Grid Ref : NY2000061000
Summary : Conjectural site of a Roman tower (Part of the Roman frontier defences) - not located. The existence of tower 1B is based exclusively on the assumption of a pattern of milefortlets to towers along the Solway frontier, and its position would be relative to the adjoining works. As the location of milefortlet 2 is unknown, so is that of this supposed tower. It must have been positioned in the general area NY 20 61.
