Summary : A country house constructed 1825-6 to resemble a castle with the interior designed by George Wightwich and completed in 1845. The Gothic Revival building was altered in the later 19th century and in the 20th century. Built of stone rubble with ashlar dressings, the embattled parapet coceals the roof. It is reported to be situated on the site of a gun emplacement. |
