A folly or landmark, now in ruins, which was built by Lord Halifax between 1766 and 1775. Architect Theodosius Kelne. Built of red brick, originally faced with flints, most of which has disappeared. Triangular base with a small round turret at each angle, originally taller than now. Tall central circular tower of four storeys. Listed grade II. Originally listed as Racton Folly, now as Racton Monument. (2) |
