More information : A site indicated by finds discovered by the Lewes Archaeological Group. Flue tiles, pilae, floor tiles, roofing tiles, red tesserae and dark red plaster were found. Much pottery was found and one coin of 2nd or 3rd century date. The pottery indicates the site was in use from the 1st century to the mid/later 3rd century at least. Surface indications, mortar, flint and chalk, give the impression of an E-W orientated building of at least seven rooms. (1-3)
