More information : Roman Tower 3b, 19ft externally and 13ft internally, on foundations consisting of cobbles set in cement, excavated by Ferguson in 1880 who found a flagged floor inside, on which were samian and coarse pottery, an amphora handle, human bones, and quantities of mussel shells. Fallen masonry from this site was used to build an outhouse gable at Pasture House. (1)

(Centred at NY 1763 6032) No certain traces of Tower, but the sites marked A and B occur on a slight rise, with a thin scatter of stones. (7)
The site of tower 3b is at NY 1764 6031 on a slight rise on the line of a gravel ridge, more pronounced on the seaward side. It lies within a managed pasture field; but the site, being scheduled, is preserved from ploughing. Several stones of building quality have been dumped by the fence N of the mound. (8)
No remains of the turret were visible on available air photographs. (9)
