Summary : A linear feature recorded as a cropmark running roughly parallel to the northern ditch of the North Kite enclosure (SU 14 SW 52) but extending a few hundred metres both to the east and west. It appears to form part of a system of linear earthworks in the North Kite-Wilsford Down area.
More information : A linear ditch running for 600 ESE-WNW from SU 11584071 to SU 11004087. It has been identified as part of a possible Bronze Age boundary complex extending from west of Longbarrow Cross Roads to Rox Hill (SU 120386). Part of this earthwork's course utilises the northern boundary of North Kite Enclosure SU 14 SW 52. The western end runs parallel with SU 14 SW 127 for c. 100m creating an entrance to a possible enclosure formed by SU 14 SW 127, SU 14 SW 128 and the western ditch of North Kite SU 14 SW 52. (1) The linear feature is visible as a slight earthwork on early aerial photographs and as a cropmark on later photographs. It has been mapped by both RCHME's Salisbury Plain Training Area NMP and EH's Stonehenge WHS Mapping Project. (3-6)
