Summary : 1890 wreck of English ketch which stranded at Cowbar Steel while returning to Grimsby with three weeks' catch of fish. Constructed of wood in 1883, she was a sailing vessel.

(2) Indexed in this source as STAR OF BETHLEHAM and indexed, as is usual in this source for fishing vessels, to be in ballast. This, as (4) shows, is in error. (2) Feb.16: Wreck of trawler STAR OF BETHLEHEM at Staithes. (3) 'TRAWLER ASHORE AT STAITHES. 'The fishing trawler STAR OF BETHLEHEM, of Grimsby, ran ashore yesterday on Cowber [sic] Steel, Staithes. The vessel being badly holed, she is not likely to be got off. The men, five in number, were taken off by the Staithes Life-saving Brigade. The vessel had on board three weeks' catch of fish.'
