This lozenge type pillbox is situated towards the landward side of the Spurn Point battery complex, and formed part of the main defences of the battery. The building was of re-inforced concrete construction and was plotted from aerial photographs by the Fortress Studies Group. The site was not visited by the FSG during the Holderness Survey so its present condition is unknown.(1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. The pillbox appears to have associated barbed wire fences. (2)
