More information : (TA 4208 1456) Minefield, Easington. This minefield was situated just to the south of the Kilnsea anti-aircraft battery. It consisted of a barbed wire enclosure which contained a number of mines, probably in an intermediate spaced pattern. The site was plotted form aerial photographs by the Fortress Studies Group. The FSG also visited the site during the Holderness Survey in 1992, they found the site to be totally destroyed. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures and earthworks on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
