This formed the exterior defence of the battery and enclosed the whole of the end of Spurn Point. It took the form of a concrete wall with loopholes at regular intervals. These loopholes could be closed by steel shutters. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992, they found the site to be in good condition, but felt that it was at risk.(1)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
