More information : (TA 4001 1094) Light anti-aircraft battery
This light anti aircraft battery was positioned to the rear of the main Spurn Point batteries. It took the form of one 40mm Bofors light anti-aircraft gun and a Lewis Gun, behind these was a crew shelter. The site was of concrete block construction. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 during the Holderness Survey, they found the Bofors and Lewis pit remaining as well as the troop shelter. The remains were, however, considered to be in poor condition and at risk of total destruction.(1)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
