Summary : Medieval deer park at Setterah. A park existed there in 1289, and a licence to empark was granted in 1339. The boundary is preserved in the current field pattern.
More information : A deer park at Setterah Park, Helton, the boundary of which is
preserved in the present field layout. Its N edge skirts a moat
(NY 52 SW 2) which may have been a hunting lodge.

Thmomas Engleys, the lord of Helton Flecket, obtained licence to
empark his `wood of Satrou' in 1339 but a `park of Saterhou' already existed in 1289. (1,1a)
