Summary : A Bronze Age bowl barrow forming part of the Cow Down Barrow Cemetery. The barrow was designated as Collingbourne Ducis 12 by Grinsell (1957) and survives as an earthwork 31 metres in diameter and 1.5 metres high. The top of the mound has been destroyed by trenching and the ditch damaged by military action. Excavations by W.C Lukis in 1855 recorded a primary cremation and a possible secondary inhumation and cremation. The secondary cremation was accompanied by two shale and five amber beads.

(1) Barrow H: SU 23045159, Collingbourne Ducis 12, a bowl barrow, 25 paces in diameter and 6 feet high (2). Excavated by W.C Lukis (WCL barrow 8) who excavated a possible primary cremation with a secondary inhumation and cremation. The secondary cremation was accompanied by two shale and five amber beads. (3) Barrow H: A bowl barrow 1.5 metres high with unsurveyable traces of surrounding ditch. Surveyed at 1:2500 (4) Originally recorded as Collingbourne Ducis 12 by Goddard. (5) A bowl barrow with traces of a ditch. It has an overall diameter of 31 metres and the top of the mound has been destroyed by trenching. The ditch has also been damaged by military action. Excavations during the 19th century located a number of interments. (6)
