Vessel foundered and lost in wind conditions NW to WNW force 4, following collision with the Penzance-registered SS GUARDIAN early on Monday morning in bright moonlight. The lugger sank in 10 minutes, Henry Wilson and William Raven, both asleep in their bunks below, were drowned. The survivors were landed at Falmouth. (2)
NB: Source (2) states the vessel as being in ballast, a default practice for fishing vessels in that source, not necessarily based on any explicit information in primary sources. Since the vessel was returning to her home port from the fishing grounds, she may have been carrying fish, [if her catch had not already been sold].
