More information : Barrow 28. (1) SU 21765193: A pond barrow, discovered in 1957 by H.C Bowen. Situated about 500ft south of Collingbourne Kingston 13, it was visible a slight circular depression, 40ft in diameter, and can be seen on air photographs (2,3). The barrow was excavated in 1957 by Thomas (Site XVI). The bank was found to be 8ft wide, 6in high, within the interior there was a sub-rectangular enclosure which was defined by stake holes. Three pits, all of which contained fragments of burnt bone, were found within the enclosure.
The dimensions given for the barrow are correct. (4)
