Summary : A Bronze Age bell barrow referred to as Collingbourne Ducis 6 by Grinseell. Excavations by Colt Hoare located traces of a cremation.
More information : Barrow 27. (1) SU 21935194: Collingbourne Ducis 6, a bell barrow, mound 63ft in diameter x 10ft high, berm 15ft wide, ditch 15ft wide x 6in deep. The berm and ditch are poorly preserved (2). Excavated by Colt Hoare (RCH barrow 26) who located `abundant signs of cremation' but no interment found. (3)

Dimensions given for this barrow are correct. OS 1:2500 survey revised. (4)

Originally recorded as Collingbourne Ducis 6 by Goddard. (5)
